Introducing the ADU Plans Gallery Demo!

After years of hard work, we are excited to share the demo of the ADU Plans Gallery, which features all of the ADU plans in our growing database, and demonstrates the type of experience jurisdictions can create for homeowners by signing up for this tool. 

Why an ADU Plans Gallery?

One in five new homes built in California in 2023 were ADUs – doubling since 2020. These small units are a great source of affordable housing for seniors, young families, and the local workforce. ADUs also provide income generation and property equity for their owners. We’ve been helping jurisdictions accelerate ADU development for nearly a decade, and are excited to offer a new tool for helping homeowners build ADUs. On top of that, the new California state law AB1332 requires all jurisdictions to have a process for pre-approving ADU plans and listing those plans online. Enter, the ADU Plans Gallery – a user-friendly platform to help jurisdictions comply with state law while helping their community build more ADUs. 

What’s Next?

In the next few months, individual jurisdictions can start customizing their galleries and connecting with designers who apply for ADU plan pre-approval, well in time for the January 1, 2025, deadline for the state law. We are also continuing to bring on designers and publishing new design listings, so don’t be surprised to see new designs every time you visit.
