Kate is an attorney and urban planner who has worked in both capacities for local governments in the San Francisco Bay Area. Kate leverages her experience to make regulations that impact the built environment more comprehensible, navigable, and actionable.
Prior to joining CPC, Kate was the VP of Public Sector at Symbium, where she developed online tools to help homeowners understand if an ADU is feasible on their property, business owners determine where their business may be located, and planners conduct plan checks. Kate’s experience also includes litigating cases to promote economic and social justice at Santa Clara County Counsel’s Office, planning parks and open spaces for the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, launching a web application that visualized maximum buildout potential while at a startup spun out of Google[X], and supporting California cities and counties in updating zoning regulations and drafting long-range plans while at Dyett & Bhatia Urban and Regional Planners.
Kate currently serves on the Board of Directors for Next City. Kate earned her law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, a certification in landscape architecture from UC Berkeley Extension, and a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University
